At the heart of my work is curiosity, collaboration and a focus on delivering practical results. Every organisation is different, and I will support you with the right mix of insight, strategy and hands-on delivery. I’m based in the UK and work on a freelance and contract basis. I am also Chair of the Board of Trustees at the fantastic FACT, a world renowned new media and visual arts venue in Liverpool.

From shaping digital strategy to leading projects, facilitating workshops, mentoring and training, take a look at my services to see how I can help you.

  • I assess how your systems (eg CRM & ticketing, e-commerce, email etc), work together (or not!) to pinpoint inefficiencies and uncover opportunities to improve. Typically this involves:

    • Establishing a clear baseline of the current digital infrastructure & processes, including platforms, data flows, and governance.

    • Identifying risks and inefficiencies, while highlighting opportunities for stronger integration and usability.

    • Understanding how digital systems serve internal users, stakeholders and audiences / customers.

    • Creation of a clear plan to streamline how you work and make you and your teams more effective.

For smaller organisations without in-house specialists I can also work with you to create a clear, practical and effective digital audience strategy, that is clearly linked to your business and/or charitable objectives.

Reach, grow, engage and convert your audiences.

  • You might be considering a new website but you’re not sure whether to improve what you have or rebuild from scratch (with a customised solution or ‘website as a service’ approach). I can help by auditing your current site, understanding your challenges and objectives, and providing impartial, expert advice about your best next steps. I’m also experienced at helping organistaions make a business case for a new website (being Chair of the Board for an arts organisation means I understand both viewpoints!).

If you decide to rebuild I can assist at all stages of the process. Having reviewed hundreds of website RFPs, I will ensure your website brief is clear and comprehensive, correctly specifying key areas, such as accessibility, sustainability and technical integrations (CRM & ticketing, email, e-commerce, and so on). I can also provide you with expert, objective guidance throughout the agency selection process and guide you through common pitfalls.

And, if needed, I can support you throughout the design and development process through to launch.

  • Through a range of user research methodologies, I uncover your online users’ needs, behaviours and pain points. The insights generated lead to practical improvements in user journeys and overall experience and, where relevant, may be used to inform your marketing and engagement strategy.

  • Whether you’re at the start of your AI journey or tackling specific challenges, I’ll work with your key internal stakeholders to shape a pragmatic AI strategy that maximises benefits while managing ethical considerations and operational risks. My support ranges from one-off workshops with follow-up advice to longer-term project-based collaboration.

Services

I offer a number of pre-defined, ‘off the peg’ services but often tailor work depending on what is required. I charge on a project or per day basis. Please get in touch for a chat.

  • I have worked with lots of organisations to help them assess team and organisational digital capabilities, identify gaps, and design structured development plans to build confidence and capacity.

Typically this involves reviewing skill levels relating to digital marketing, social media, analytics, project management, product development and AI, alongside vital related skills such as critical thinking.

I also support recruitment for new digital roles.

  • I have been a trainer since 2008 and provide engaging in-person or virtual training on topics such as digital strategy, AI, user research and social media. This can be a one-off workshop, ongoing mentoring, or part of a structured professional development programme.

  • My considerable new business development experience can help you to strengthen your reputation and brand, attract and retain clients, develop compelling pitch material, create effective webinars, refine sales messaging, and coach teams for new business meetings.

  • I provide flexible part-time or fixed-term support, embedding digital expertise when your organisation needs it most. I'm based in the UK and can work remotely, on site or hybrid.
